Oni-Moth Tattoo

I made this during a period of transformation in my life. The pain had passed and I was ready for a rebirth. Ready to heal from my pain. I made this specifically to be a chest piece. My heart was healing slowly and I wanted to start a new chapter in my life. The oni mask is meant to ward off or scare evil spirits. The moth symbolizing rebirth is meant to also shows the wisdom and determination I gained thought the journey. A journey which I was still going through. It is the death of my old life and the beginning of my new one. I hinted at the phases of the moon on the body of the moth. The real eyes, crying and forming the tails of the moth represent my past and how it shaped me, the hardships that made up my journey.
